Eco-505 Spray Injection System

The Gregson-Clark Eco-505 Spray Injection System allows the lawn care operator to selectively apply a pesticide on demand while making a blanket application of fertilizer. By pulling the second trigger on the injection gun, the pesticide solution is injected instantaneously into the flow of fertilizer at the gun.

Think about it ...

• Pesticide reduction up to 50%.
• Increased efficiency.
• Reduced call-backs.
• Pesticides applied only where and when needed.
• Practice IPM efficiently and profitably.

The complete system consists of a 9-gallon tank, pumping unit, Hannay dual line hose reel, coaxial hose, and the dual trigger gun. The Eco-505 can be easily incorporated into any lawn care spray unit. The Eco-505 pumping unit features a built-in pressure gauge and flowmeter to ensure accuracy. The specially designed 12-volt pump is circuit-breaker protected. A toggle switch turns the system on and a pressure regulator allows for precise flow adjustment.
Unlike side-by-side hoses, our unique coaxial hose features a 3/16" tube inside a standard 1/2" hose. The result is a hose that is durable and easy to pull and rewind.
Our coaxial hose is supplied as standard, but side-by-side hose is available as an option for those who prefer it.
The Gregson-Clark dual trigger gun consists of a Chemlawn™ gun modified with a special stainless steel valve and dual triggers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is the Eco-505 Injection system?
A. Once installed on an existing lawn spray truck, the Gregson-Clark Eco-505 Spray Injection System allows the applicator to blanket-apply fertilizer and selectively apply a pesticide instantaneously simply by pulling a second trigger on the dual-trigger spray gun.

Q. What are the benefits of injection spraying with the Eco-505?
A. Reduced Pesticide Cost. If you are currently blanket-applying chemicals to control a pest problem that exists in only a portion of the turf area being treated, you can now apply the pesticide only where it is needed. Current users are experiencing up to a 50% reduction in pesticide use.

Efficiency. Instead of currently walking back to the truck to grab a hand sprayer to make a spot treatment, you now could have the pesticide available at the spray gun. Since the only effort required to make a spot treatment is to pull a second trigger, you can easily prevent costly call-backs. Also, if you are currently applying a granular fertilizer followed by a weed spray, you could eliminate "double passing" your lawns by making a single liquid application

Environmental Responsibility. The Eco-505 allows you to practice Integrated Pest Management (lPM). You will be applying pesticides only where they are needed. This message can and should be communicated to your customers and to your community. By making this investment in state-of-the-art equipment and practicing IPM you can differentiate your company from your competition.

Q. What does the system consist of?
A. The basic system consists of the following components: tank, 12-volt pumping unit, dual swivel hose reel, coaxial hose, dual trigger gun, installation hardware and an operator's manual.

Q. How is the Eco-505 different from other injection systems or proportioning devices?
A. The Eco-505 injects at the gun, on demand. The fertilizer solution and the pesticide solution travel separately through the coaxial hose and are mixed at the gun. This allows the applicator to apply the pesticide selectively while doing a blanket application of fertilizer. Other proportioning systems inject a concentrate into the flow of fertilizer before the hose reel and do not allow for selective pesticide application.

Q. What is a coaxial hose?
A. Instead of being side-by-side, one hose is inside the other. Our exclusive coaxial hose features a special small flexible nylon tube inside a 600 psi, 1/2" PVC hose. This design is lightweight, flexible and durable. Unlike side-by-side hoses, it looks and handles just like a standard 1/2" PVC hose.

Q. What is the length of the hose?
A. 300 or 400 feet.

Q. Do you use a concentrate in the pesticide tank?
A. No. Most products will be diluted. Depending on the desired rate of the pesticide you want to use, you will dilute the pesticide accordingly.

Q. How do you calibrate the system?
A. Calibration is simple. You need to know your current application rate in square feet per minute and also the desired rate for the product you are using.

Example - You are currently spraying 1,000 square feet per minute. You have a product that you want to apply at 1.5 ounces per 1,000 square feet. Our system has to be adjusted to deliver 5 ounces per minute. Therefore the mix ratio in the tank should be of 1.5 ounces of product for 3.5 ounces of water.

Q. How often will I need to fill the 9-gallon pesticide tank?
A. Because the Eco-505 operates at a very low volume, you will most likely fill the fertilizer tank long before you need to fill the pesticide tank. This of course depends on your tank size and pumping rate.

Q. Once it is calibrated, how do you know that the system is working properly?
A. The Eco-505 has several built-in features to ensure accuracy. There is a pressure gauge and a flow meter on the pumping unit. Also, you can pull the pesticide trigger alone and you should notice a consistent flow. Some customers also use a dye in the pesticide solution as a visual indicator.

Q. What are the limitations of the Eco-505 injection system?
A. We do not recommend the Eco-505 for extremely viscous solutions or suspensions. The system is most commonly used with liquid herbicides. Call us if you have questions about a specific product.

Q. How long has the Eco-505 been in use?
A. The original injection system was developed in 1989. Since then the system has been continually field tested, refined and improved. Gregson-Clark is totally dedicated to this technology and will continue to be the leader in IPM injection equipment.

Q. What is the warranty?
A. The Eco-505 carries a one year warranty on the entire system.

Q. Can I talk to others who are currently using the Eco-505?
A. Yes. Call our office for a list of current Eco-505 users in your area.

Q. What is the availability of parts and service?
A. With the system you will receive an owner's manual complete with parts diagrams as well as instructions for installation, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting. Parts can be shipped next-day air. If your system is down, you can temporarily go back to tank mixing your pesticide to avoid any loss of production in the meantime. If you need to call our office you can be assured that you will be helped by a knowledgeable staff who understands how important your equipment is to your business.
